The charity manages the generous donations of people like yourself who kindly give us money or spend time fundraising for us. You can choose to donate to the hospital, a specific ward or department or donate to Children’s services at Drove Road in Weston and The Barn in Clevedon. The Trust benefits from funds raised by donors through a variety of means. Where you or your group do raise money for Weston Area Health Trust and/or Weston General Hospital it is important to us that donors are sure where their money is going and so we would recommend that you read and adhere to the https://www.fundraisingregulator.org.uk/code where there is good, practical advice about your fundraising, accounting. Monies that you raise should be presented to the Trust who will then arrange to spend the money as directed by you (if at all possible) and to an equivalent fund if that is not possible. We will discuss with you the best route to achieve that.
If your donation is to be used to buy any equipment we can normally recover the VAT on purchases by quoting our charity number. Sometimes groups buy equipment which require further installation or maintenance which we need to plan for and so its important for us. Some groups may like to identify themselves during their fundraising by using some form of photo ID card where there are some simple rules you must adhere to:
Your generosity and support help us provide extra equipment and facilities for our patients, their families, and our staff.
Your donations have helped us buy:
Communications and Fundraising Department,
First floor Dormers,
Weston General Hospital,
Grange Road,
Weston-super-Mare,

along with the form section of the Postal donation and Gift aid Document.

To find out more, contact the payroll department at your place of work. for more information please visit https://www.gov.uk/payroll-giving
Charitable legacies are paid before tax is deducted, therefore reducing the amount of tax that has to be paid when your estate is being distributed. A gift in your Will can take the form of:
• A residuary gift – this is the remainder of your estate once your family have been provided for.
• A pecuniary gift - this is a specific sum of money pledged to charity.
• A specific gift - this can be property, stocks and shares or other valuables such as a piece of jewellery.
For more information please download our Leaving a gift in your will or Donating in memory leaflet.
